City process, step by step

We begin with a site walk: mapping ramps, drains, utility covers, planters, and high-traffic lines. We set route priority with you so critical entries never slip.

Pretreatment lands before rush hour so snow never bonds to pavers. During events, we run micro-loops, check traction, and clear crosswalks first.

We confirm ADA compliance on every pass, keep hydrants and fire lanes visible, and coordinate with city plows to reopen curb cuts.

What you get day one

  • Kickoff call with your captain
  • Sensitive finishes tagged
  • Backup crew reserved for spikes
  • Billing mapped to cost centers

Result: calm, predictable service that keeps your building open, safe, and beautifulno matter how messy the storm gets.

Safety, compliance, and hospitality in the city

Our crews move quietly, greet residents, and keep sightlines clear so your facade stays inviting.

We log everything: chemical type, amount, time, surface, weather notes, and photos. Inspectors and insurers get answers in minutes.

Hospitality is non-negotiable. We protect lobby rugs, wipe handles if needed, and help doormen keep entrances orderly.

Deep dive: melt strategy for city hardscapes

City surfaces are variedstone plazas, brick walks, polished concrete, metal thresholds. We inventory them, then pick chemistry that protects color, grout, and texture.

We track application volumes to minimize residue and staining. If temps crash, we switch to blends that stay active longer without harming pavers.

For decorative concrete and luxury stone, we favor liquid pretreatments plus gentle granules only where traction demands it.

Operations dashboard you can trust

Transparency keeps you calm, your leadership informed, and your guests protected.

Data includes response times, friction readings, and melt usage per surface so you can audit performance and budgets.

When storms overlap, the dashboard highlights surge staffing so you know the plan.

Metrics we track nightly

  • Average loop time by site
  • Refreeze risk alerts
  • Chemical volume per surface
  • Close-out verification steps

Occoquan is derived from an Algonquian Doeg Indian word, meaning "at the end of the water". Located on the Occoquan River, Occoquan was long a site of indigenous peoples' habitation. Like the British colonists after them, they relied on the river for transportation and trade, as well as fish. Early in the 1600s Capt. John Smith sailed and explored the Occoquan River. In 1608, when the first European reached Northern Virginia, the Tauxenent tribe (also known by the English as the "Dogues") had its main village at the mouth of the Occoquan River. This tribe was more closely associated with neighbors such as the Piscataways (located across the Potomac River in what is now Maryland) than the other Algonquian-speaking tribes to the south. The local chief was called a Tayac, who was subservient to an "emperor" located in Prince Georges County.
